Mason Mount move is on! Man Utd agree £60m deal with Chelsea for England midfielder

For a total of £60 million ($76 million), Manchester United and Chelsea have agreed to sign Mason Mount.

United ultimately achieves success.

Chelsea consents to sell.

Deal will soon be completed

HOW COME THAT? Finally, a Mount deal has been reached between United and Chelsea. United's first £55 million ($69 million) offer was turned down, but they have since agreed to pay £55 million plus $5 million ($6 million) in add-ons. GOAL has learned that United will only have to fork over the full additional £5 million in the event that Mount repeatedly wins the Premier League or the Champions League.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: United and Chelsea have been negotiating nonstop since the summer transfer window opened, with United submitting no less than three offers for the England international. It now seems as though the saga is finally moving closer to its end.

Additionally, Chelsea has made steps to reduce the size of the team under new manager Mauricio Pochettino. They have traded Kai Havertz to Arsenal, as well as Kalidou Koulibaly, N'Golo Kante, and Edouard Mendy, who have all been sent to Saudi Arabia.
